Are police reports public record in Florida? ›

Yes, arrest records are public in Florida under the state's Sunshine Law (also called the Florida Public Records Law). Indexed in Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes, the Sunshine Law affords general access to public records, including arrest records, maintained by government departments.

The fastest way to make your request is to use our online system, the Police Public Records Center. To visit in person you must make an appointment online You can also make your request through the Public Records Request Portal.

7990. In Person: To request public records in person, please visit our Records Unit located at the Miami Beach Police Department, 1100 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. Reports may be requested Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
